Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, on an official visit to China from January 14-17, announced on Friday that Canada and China have reached an initial trade deal to cut tariffs on electric vehicles and canola seeds. Under the deal, Canada will allow up to 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles to enter at a 6.1 percent tariff under most-favoured-nation terms. "This is a return to the levels that existed prior to recent trade frictions," Carney told reporters in Beijing. (Video source: AFP)
