June 5 marks World Environment Day. To commemorate the occasion and raise public awareness, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) China Office hosted a special event on Tuesday in Beijing. In his video remarks, UN Secretary-General António Guterres highlighted that the past 11 years have been the hottest on record. He emphasized the urgent need to quickly limit global temperature rise, minimize its impact and rapidly bring temperatures back down. "This is the moment to act, for our environment and for our future," Guterres said. (Compiled by Xu Zheqi)
