On June 20, 2019, upon President Xi Jinping's arrival in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for a state visit, the DPRK side held a grand ceremony to welcome him. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets, waving flowers and chanting cheerful slogans to greet the distinguished Chinese guest. With President Xi set to visit again this June 8 to 9, we look back at the warm welcome he received in 2019 and the deep friendship that binds the two countries.
