Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr.'s reckless behavior is bound to backfire and undermine the interests of the Philippines and its people as a whole, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Friday. Lin made the remarks at a regular press conference in Beijing when asked to comment on China's recent decision to impose sanctions on Teodoro and his relatives. Teodoro is one of the most vocal anti-China figures in the Philippines who have been actively provoking tensions, Lin said. China announced on Thursday that Teodoro, his spouse and child are banned from entering the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and that organizations and individuals in China are prohibited from engaging in transactions, cooperation or other activities with them.
