More than 30 representatives from political parties and think tanks in over 30 countries visited Minning town in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on Wednesday to learn about its poverty reduction work. Minning town is an example of cooperation between east and west China on poverty reduction. In 1996 the Chinese government launched a pairing programme linking Fujian Province in the east with Ningxia. Over the past three decades Minning grew from a small village into a town with more than 60,000 people. It is now promoted as an example of China's poverty reduction efforts.
