China's Y-20 carries command team for Gyirong rescue
A Chinese military transport plane was scrambled to support rescue operations after a mudslide hit Gyirong county in Xigaze, Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.
Operated by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Western Theater Command Air Force, the Y-20 took off from an airport in Southwest China at 8:02 am on Thursday, carrying a Western Theater Command guidance team. It landed at an airport on the plateau around 10:30 am, and the team will continue by road to the disaster area.
