Chinese rescuers reach Gyirong core affected area

Rescuers reached the core affected area at Gyirong Port in Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on August 29, following August 26's massive glacial collapse that triggered flash floods and mudslides along the China-Nepal border. Despite the high altitudes, cliff faces and difficult terrain, the team pressed ahead and is now conducting manual search-and-rescue operations.
