Straight shooter: Hutong photographer says no to filters

Zhang Yongqiang, 67, runs a photo studio in a Beijing hutong alleyway. He has shot photos from film to digital, and refuses to apply filters for artificial beautification. Zhang uses light and shadow to capture true faces. In an age of digital retouching, he clings to authenticity. For him, a photo freezes craft, time and life itself.
