China is in the homestretch to meet its 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) targets. From remarkable economic growth to improving people's lives, the country has witnessed all-round historic achievements.

This year also marks China's final battle against absolute poverty and the completion of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. 

As President Xi Jinping noted, after building China into a moderately prosperous society in all respects and accomplishing the first centenary goal, the country will begin a new journey toward a modern socialist country and the second centenary goal in the next Five-Year Plan. The world’s second biggest economy will enter a new stage.
