Good-hearted passersby carried out a breath-taking rescue of a young woman trying to jump off a bridge 30 meters above the Yangtze river in Yibin, West China’s Sichuan Province.
Possibly frustrated in her relationship, a young woman decided to put an end to her life by jumping off the Jiangan Changjiang Bridge on last Friday.
People found her standing on the protrusion outside of the guardrail and looking downwards. Two passersby, Wen Mingyue and Zhou Daiyun, grabbed the woman’s hand at the moment that she squatted down and tried to jump.
After dangling off the bridge for 15 minutes, the woman finally got pulled up by rescuers after a male risked his life to climb over the guardrail to lift her up.
The male rescuer, Zhang Hao, wanted to say to the woman, “It hurt your parents, children and those who wished you well the most when you wanted to end your life. We should not give up our lives and I hope you will live a good one.”
