Heavy snow blanketed parts of Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park on January 6 as a spell of winter weathercold snap swept the state. Storm warnings were issued over the weekends as the region experienced rainfall and snow. The Grand Canyon Nnational Ppark remains remained open during the government shutdown with the help of the state, which was paying about $64,000 a week to cover restroom cleaning, trash removal and snow plowingremoval, local media reported.
