As the death of George Floyd triggered widespread rage and protests by American people demanding justice, US President Donald Trump delivered a tough speech on Monday, condemning “domestic terror” and threatening military action to quell protests. In his speech, he self-identified as the “president of law and order” and “an ally of all peaceful protesters.”
However, federal officers and police have begun to clear peaceful crowds amid intensified clashes, seemingly coinciding with what Trump has claimed to be "domination in the streets” in a leaked audio recording of his talk with the governors. The frequently-repeated “dominate” shows us his tough leadership of the whole nation and his demands for rough policing while confronting the protestors.
