Residents of Kunavai, southern India’s Tamil Nadu, were panicked to see a group of lost elephants on Wednesday around midnight.

In the video, crowds quickly dispersed after seeing several elephants walking on the road in residential areas. Local officials drove a jeep with lights and sirens to track the elephants, while residents held torches to stop elephants from moving further into the town, according to reports.

It is reported that there have been growing number of human-elephant conflicts in this area due to deforestation.
