French President Emmanuel Macron is doing everything he can to warm up to his Chinese hosts during his state visit.
However, he soon realized it's not that easy to speak Chinese. A video posted on Twitter showed him preparing for his speech at the Daming Palace in the northwest Chinese city of Xi'an. With the help of an interpreter, he practiced pronouncing Chinese words. When it was time to deliver his speech, he told the audience in Chinese, "Make the globe great again."
Several days before Macron’s arrival, heavy snow blanketed Xi'an, with temperatures dropping to -10 C. At the end of the video, Macron could not help but sneeze.
