Massive waterspout seen in southern Italy

<p>Residents of a port-city in Italy&#39;s Salerno province witnessed a striking spectacle when a huge waterspout tore across the Vietri sul Mare bay on Tuesday. The whirling, tornado-like column of water eventually moved onto the land and damaged trailers and moorings in the city&#39;s port, according to local media.Resident Antonia Stanzione was enjoying lunch with his fiancee when he saw the waterspout forming and took a video, which he shared with Reuters.&nbsp;</p><p>Waterspouts are similar to tornadoes and whirlwind, and are usually the result of rapid cloud formation and upward-moving air currents over a body of water, according to Encylcopedia Britannica.&nbsp;</p><p><span style="color: rgb(127, 127, 127);">(Video source: VCG)</span></p>
