Every year around the Mid-Autumn Festival is the best time to watch the world’s largest tidal bore, on the Qiantang River. Every year it reaches its peak on the eighteenth day of the eighth lunar month (Tuesday).
The Hangzhou Meteorological Station forecast that under normal meteorological conditions, the tides would rise about 1.4 meters, which can be seen at the Xiaoshan Tide Watching Spot.
