Zongzi, a kind of rice dumpling, is a festive treat that has been passed down in China for thousands of years. It hits Chinese tables every Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on June 14 this year. The story of patriotic poet Qu Yuan is generally believed to be related to the origin of zongzi.
President Xi Jinping has mentioned Qu Yuan many times on different occasions, praising his concern for the country and his love for the people, and has quoted famous lines from Qu Yuan's poems several times.
