The Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in an interview with CNN showed his points of view on the buck-passing of US to blame China for the spread of COVID-19.

As of March 29, the number of confirmed cases in US has topped 140,000. The spread of novel coronavirus was so fast because the US government failed to take efficient and ineffective measures to contain the virus. Instead, the government kept shunning responsibility and blaming China for the pandemic.

Lee said, "I believe when Chinese government review their battle against the novel coronavirus, they will probably think they should have done better. However, it doesn't mean that if everything had been done well, the outbreak of virus wouldn't have happened, because other countries also failed to contain the spread of virus within their borders."

He expressed his hope to see US exert its strong leadership in the control of pandemic. "The US has numerous resources, advanced technologies, strong influence and the soft power. It would be a pity if they are not employed to handle this severe crisis faced by human beings," added Lee.
