Huanglong is a scenic and historic interest area located in the northwest of Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Huanglong is known for its colorful travertine lakes, snow-capped peaks, forests, valleys and waterfalls. Its diverse forest ecosystems provide a home for a number of endangered animals and plants, including the giant panda and Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey.
Huanglong was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992.
