On February 3 at 5:30 pm at the gate of the city hall in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, there were crowds, drums and music, red lanterns, lion dance, dragon dance, paper umbrellas, banners and other traditional Chinese elements bringing out a strong atmosphere for the ChineseSpring Festival.
Accordingly, Mauritius is the only country in Africa that recognizes the Spring Festival as a public holiday. As early as 1961, the Chinese Spring Festival was made a legal holiday, and the "happy Spring Festival" series activities of the Chinese cultural center were included at the cabinet of Mauritius.
With the support of the embassy and the cultural center, Spring Festival activities have become one of the best platforms for the Maoists to experience and feel Chinese culture.
