As wechat and other social networking apps penetrate our daily lives, Leila, Katrin and Wang Cong did an interesting "social destruction" experiment. With our wechat moments bombarded with people who sell products as a business and others showing off selfies and their seemingly perfect lives all the time, the trio decided to pick three tasks that are potentially detrimental to maintaining a good image on social apps.


The first task was to text a colleague about getting a side job selling health products on wechat and see how they responded. The trio pretended to sell scented organic tampons. Some colleagues refused to give support, though one person was willing to help.


The second task was to post on wechat moments, "I didn't bring toilet paper," and an empty toilet paper tray. It turns out there are indeed some reliable friends who asked for an exact location to bring help, while some teased about using a hand instead.
