Three top US health officials begin self-quarantine after possible exposure to coronavirus

US Vice President Mike Pence has left the White House and begun a self-quarantine after his press secretary Katie Miller tested positive for novel coronavirus on May 8, CCTV news reported Monday, citing us media.  CNN reported on May 9 that Fauci has been placed in self-quarantine, along with CDC director Redfield and FDA chief Hahn.

Trump expressed frustration that a White House staff member tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Trump said he did not want to approach people who had not been tested, and that he felt uncomfortable when he was in contact with some people at the White House.

The latest figures show there are more than 1.32 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States and nearly 80,000 deaths.
