An international cultural festival opened in Shanghai University on Wednesday, attracting about 1,000 participants, including guests, professors and students from more than 50 different countries, to attend and embrace cultural diversity.
The cultural gala kicked off with a national costume performance, where international students from countries like Russia, Argentina, South Korea and Kazakhstan dressed up to showcase the best aspects of folk costumes in their home countries.
International students were then joined on stage by Chinese students, staff and faculty members at the university.
The event also featured Chinese cultural elements, including tai chi, paper-cutting and rope jumping, aiming to promote cross-cultural understanding among students.
