Fifteen wild Asian elephants were spotted in E'shan County, China's Yunnan Province on Thursday night.

Streets were cleared for people's safety. The elephants were closely tracked by the local firefighters.

At 2 am on Friday, the elephants entered the safe area near Mount Efeng in Eshan County.

An elephant group, originally living at the Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve, migrated from Mojiang County of Pu 'er City, to Yuanjiang Hani, Yi and Dai Autonomous prefecture, Yuxi City on April 16, 2021.

In the past 40 days, the group caused 412 incidents in Yuanjiang and Shiping counties, causing a direct economic loss of nearly 6.8 million yuan ($1.07 million) and seriously affected the lives of local people. No casualties have been reported.
