Wildfires are raging in many western US states.
On Tuesday, red-flag warnings for dangerous fire stretched along the entire West Coast--from the U.S. border with Mexico to Canada, including much of California and Nevada, western Oregon and Washington, along with western Arizona and southern Utah. New evacuations were ordered as changing conditions fuel immense wildfires ravaging the west.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is requesting federal assistance for wildfires across the state. “Over the last 24 hours, Oregon has experienced unprecedented fires with significant damage,” Brown said at a news conference Wednesday.“This could be the greatest loss of human lives and property due to wildfires in our state’s history,” Brown said.
