An ambulance transferred some of the last four patients of Leishenshan Hospital, built to handle patients with COVID-19 in Wuhan, Hubei province, to Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University on April 14, 2020.

Leishenshan hospital, modeled after Beijing's Xiaotangshan hospital during the SARS epidemic nearly 20 years ago, was built up with a capacity of 1,600 beds within 10 days in early February.

During 67-day operation, the hospital took on a total of 2,011 coronavirus patients, 45 percent of which were in a severe condition when admitted, said Wang Xinghuan, the head of Leishenshan hospital.
