Tongzhou District People's Government of Beijing Municipality recently issued a three-year action plan for developing the district's business service industry, proposing to build a few new business circles while accelerating the upgrading of preexisting areas.

The Grand Canal Palace, located in the Canal Business District of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, with an area of 100,000 square meters, is expected to open by the end of this year. Among the more than 260 brands to open outlets, 46 are "first stores" in Tongzhou.

According to the Three-year Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Business Service Industry in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (Tongzhou District) (2022-2024), Tongzhou will work to diversify its business structure and add more new landmarks to attract more enterprises to move into the district. Taking advantage of the Universal Beijing Resort, the sub-center will construct a cultural tourism complex integrating technology, leisure, entertainment, and commerce.

A number of traditional business districts in the sub-center will be upgraded with tailor-made plans. In addition, a "first-store economy" model will be encouraged in the district, with more brands invited to open their first store in the district.

The action plan also encourages the development of the night economy to further tap into consumption potential.
