LOS ANGELES, June 1 (Xinhua) -- A young man was killed and three minors were wounded in a shooting in West Covina, a city located 35 kilometers east of downtown Los Angeles.

Local San Gabriel Valley Tribune newspaper said Saturday morning that the fatal incident was reported around 10:30 Friday night at a house where a party was holding.

Police learned that a fight broke out at the party and located three shooting victims at the scene, including a male person in early 20s who were killed.

A detective told local KTLA news channel that the party, advertised on social media, was believed to be a "nos party," a gathering where attendees consume nitrous oxide, or laughing gas and the house was rented short-term by the organizer.

Laughing gas has legitimate uses in the food industry to make whipped cream or in home brewing and in clinic as anaesthetic, tranquilliser and painkiller. But it also has been used recreationally since the late 18th century and is ranked one of the most popular drug around the world at present.

The policemen did not provide details about the shooter, just saying the injured were not in serious conditions.
