LISBON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- A landslide in Madeira, an island of Portugal in the Atlantic, left 11 injured on Wednesday, two of them seriously, Portuguese Lusa News Agency reported.
Among those injured are six French nationals, two Portuguese, two German and one Brazilian, said the report, quoting an official from Madeira, a tourism destination.
According to the official, the two seriously injured have been sent to a local hospital and the rest to a health center.
The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the victims were resting along a famous 6.5-km trail.
The rescue operation has involved 19 vehicles, a helicopter as well as fire brigades and security forces, Lusa reported.
