The Norwegian Nobel Committee has awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

Ali was cited "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea," said a statement from the official website of the Nobel Prize.
