25,000 compete in annual int'l Jerusalem Marathon

JERUSALEM, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Around 25,000 runners on Friday participated in the 11th annual International Jerusalem Marathon in cold, rainy weather.

Israel's Ageze Guadie won the men's race in two hours, 37 minutes and 17 seconds, while Ukraine's Valentyna Kiliarska triumphed in the women's category in 2:45:54.

Gelashe Abera Gadisa from Ethiopia finished the men's half marathon first in 1:08:35 while Israel's Selamawit Teferi won the women's race in a time of 1:19:29.

The event also included 10km and 5km runs, as well as a 1.7km families' run and 800m communities' run.
