BOGOTA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least four people have been killed and 10 injured, and 15 have been reported missing due to a landslide early Monday in Valdivia, a town in the northwest Colombian department of Antioquia, the National Police said.

"Initially, four people have died, and we have 10 injured people who have been evacuated from the site and 15 are missing, according to information provided by the community," the chief of the National Police, Oscar Atehortua, said in a preliminary report.

According to local media, the death toll could rise to seven.

The governor of Antioquia, Anibal Gaviria, said that as a result of the landslide, the road linking the city of Medellin to the Atlantic Coast was impassable, and urged citizens to use alternate routes.

Landslides in Antioquia, one of the departments hardest hit by heavy rains, also claimed the lives of two men on Sunday and left one woman missing.

Winter season cold fronts have so far sparked at least 150 floods, 140 landslides and more than 30 rivers to overflow, causing more than 30 deaths and displacing some 60,000 people across the country. Enditem
