HONG KONG, May 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake of 5.1 magnitude jolted Izu Islands, Japan at 00:33:29 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 31.051 degrees north latitude and 142.0537 degrees east longitude.
