An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted 14 km northwest of Lae, Papua New Guinea at 21:57:03 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 24.71 km, was initially determined to be at 6.5998 degrees south latitude and 146.9654 degrees east longitude.
