HONG KONG, May 4 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted 297km SE of Hachijo-jima, Japan at 0303 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 31.0795 degrees north latitude and 141.8965 degrees east longitude.
