5.5-magnitude quake hits off Vanuatu: USGS

HONG KONG, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 78 km WNW of Port-Vila, Vanuatu at 1221 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 17.4735 degrees south latitude and 167.6281 degrees east longitude.
