5.5-magnitude quake hits west of Macquarie Island -- USGS

HONG KONG, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted west of Macquarie Island at 0319 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 53.9263 degrees south latitude and 140.5994 degrees east longitude.
