HONG KONG, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- A 5.9-magnitude earthquake jolted 80 km SW of Raoul Island, New Zealand at 01:56:44 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 29.7521 degrees south latitude and 178.5187 degrees west longitude.
