BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted central Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 23:34:57 GMT on Tuesday (07:34:57 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 0.7634 degrees south latitude and 21.1206 degrees west longitude.
