6.0-magnitude quake strikes off Japan's Ogasawara Islands: JMA

TOKYO, April 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 on Saturday struck off west coast of Japan's Ogasawara Islands, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).

The temblor occurred at 6:25 p.m. local time, with its epicenter at a latitude of 27.3 degrees north and a longitude of 140.6 degrees east, and at depth of 490 km.

The quake logged 2 in some parts of Ogasawara Islands on the Japanese seismic intensity scale which peaks at 7.

So far no tsunami warning has been issued.
