An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude hit Izu Islands, Japan at 0439 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 430.3 km, was initially determined to be at 29.0623 degrees north latitude and 139.2932 degrees east longitude.
