A 6.6-magnitude earthquake jolted central parts of Indonesia on Tuesday, but was not potential for tsunami, the meteorology and geophysics agency said.
The quake struck at 17:47 p.m. Jakarta time (1047 GMT) with epicenter at 106 km northeast Flores Timur of East Nusa Tenggara province and with the depth of 569 km under sea bed, official in charge at the agency Kian Purmasinki said.
"The center of the quake is very deep under sea bed that we do not issue a warning for tsunami," she told Xinhua by phone.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the pacific Ring of Fire."
