6 former US oil executives sentenced in Venezuela

CARACAS, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Venezuela's Supreme Court on Thursday convicted six Americans of corruption and sentenced them to prison, local media reported.
The six Americans, who were executives of U.S.-based refining company Citgo, were arrested in Venezuela on charges of corruption on Nov. 21, 2017.
Five of them were sentenced to eight years and 10 months in prison while one of them received a 13-year sentence.
Citgo is owned by Venezuelan state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
