BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) - An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 jolted 8 km north of Petit Trou de Nippes, Haiti at 1229 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 18.6 degrees north latitude and 73.5 degrees west longitude.
