HONG KONG, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 jolted southeast of the Loyalty Islands at 13:19:56 GMT on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 33.0 km, was initially determined to be at 23.1 degrees south latitude and 171.5 degrees east longitude.
