Washington (People’s Daily) – According to the US Navy, nearly all crew members of the USS Roosevelt, the aircraft carrier hit with an outbreak of the coronavirus, have been tested for COVID-19, with 710 positive results. 

The ship became infamous after the leak of a letter from its now ex-captain Brett Crozier urging senior military officials to take action to safeguard his sailors.

“As of today, 94 percent of USS Theodore Roosevelt crew members were tested for Covid-19, with 710 positive and 3,872 negative results,” a release from the US Navy on Tuesday said.

Of the 710 positive cases, nine sailors are being treated at the US Naval Hospital in Guam, 42 have recovered and one sailor has died as a result of the disease.
