Prior to his state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Chinese President Xi Jinping published an article on Al Ittihad and The National, two mainstream newspapers in the UAE. 

Xi mentioned a mega project in his article. "The 700-MW Concentrated Solar Power, a China-UAE joint project, is under construction in Dubai. It will be the world's largest and most advanced solar thermal power plant," said Xi in the article.

The project will cost $3 billion. It's expected that the project will be put into operation during the 2021 Dubai World Expo.
