Any attempt to undermine China-Pakistan ties is doomed to fail: Chinese Embassy

Islamabad (People’s Daily) – The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan strongly condemned Friday’s terrorist attack against the Chinese Consulate-General in Karachi, which killed two policemen and two civilians.

The situation has been brought under control and no Chinese citizen was killed or injured in the attack, the statement said.

“We appreciate the Pakistani Army and police for their timely and proper action against the attack and extend our deep condolences to the two Pakistani policemen martyred in the attack. We believe that the Pakistani side is able to ensure the safety of Chinese institutions and personnel in Pakistan,” the Chinese Embassy said.

Any attempt to undermine China-Pakistan relations is doomed to fail, it noted.

All the three armed terrorists were during the exchange of fire with security forces outside the Consulate-General at around 9:30 am local time, according to reports.

Police has recovered weapons and explosive materials from the terrorists, local media reports.
