Argentine VP Fernandez de Kirchner sentenced to 6 years in graft case

An Argentine federal court found Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner guilty of corruption on Tuesday in a case related to public works. She was sentenced to six years in prison and banned from holding public office.

However, she is unlikely to serve any prison time in the near future, as she has government immunity and is expected to launch a potentially years-long appeals process.
