Brussels(People's Daily) - Two police officers and one passer-by have been shot dead in the eastern Belgian city of Liege.
Authorities have not ruled out terrorism. The attacker was shot dead by police.
According to authorities, at 10 am local time, the man attacked the two police officers with a knife, and used their own guns to kill them.
He then shot a 22-year-old passenger of a car that drove past the scene. The attacker then moved to a nearby secondary school where he took a woman hostage. Two other police officers were injured when the attacker opened fire leaving the school.
Prime Minister Charles Michel, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims, said it was too early to say what had caused the incident.
